In July, The Shri Ram Early Years completed 16 years, and the school has now stepped into its seventeenth year of working with the youngest learners in Gurugram. Sixteen years is a long time in early childhood education, and the preschool has witnessed several batches of two year olds grow into confident students who walk into formal classrooms without hesitation.

The vision of an early learning centre took shape when our founder, Mrs Manju Bharat Ram noticed children unlearning and relearning. Thus the seed of early learning through experience and sensorial play to match the readiness of a child, took shape. What have these sixteen years shown us?

Children adapt, adjust and grow at their own individual paces. That is why at The Shri Ram Early Years, settling plans are flexible and designed as per every child’s requirements. In Aarambh, our unique Companion and Me programme for 1 year old toddlers, the school invites a parent or authorised guardian to accompany the child in the class. With the familiar and comforting presence of the guardian, little learners learn to observe, explore and discover without fear. Naturally then, the transition to the next level of Nanhe Kadam becomes a gentle step rather than a sudden, overwhelming change. Another interesting insight is that children do not remember instructions, but experiences. As pioneers of experiential learning in Gurugram, the curriculum across our programmes are crafted with thoughtful, age-appropriate activities like Sand Play, Wonder Time, Circle Time and Music N Movement. Since every child responds differently to these stimulating class environments, learning at The Shri Ram Early Years embodies true engagement and enrichment for every child. Third, we learned that one method never fits every child. Therefore our educators combine Montessori, Playway and Multiple Intelligence approaches, and they adjust the approach to suit the individual child sitting in front of them.
